For many Texans, bluebonnet pictures can get old… and fast. I think this really just comes down to the fact that when bluebonnet season arrives…EVERYONE (seriously EVERYONE!) is out with their phones, taking pictures of their babies, and then sharing ALL OVER social media. But I think it’s important to see how amazing Texas bluebonnet portraits can be and that’s where your Houston family photographer comes in (that’s ME!). ;) My goal is to make your bluebonnet family session unique, fun, and GORGEOUS (no more iPhone pics in horrible light)! As a family photographer in Houston, I LOVE to photograph your sweet babies in beautiful fields of blue. I capture the vibrant colors and have several camera lenses that allow me to achieve a unique and fresh perspective. It really is just a LOT of fun for me and I want it to be a BLAST for you!
Here are some tips for your bluebonnet session:
- Bring a pair of boots or rainboots.
- Bluebonnets usually grow near mean, scratchy, prickly weeds! I try my best to find a spot that has minimal weeds but they are always inevitable. So bring boots that you can wear to walk in (or at least that your children can wear) until we make it to our bluebonnet session spot. This isn’t required but it certainly can help keep your little ones happy. :)
- Bring a blanket/quilting .
- It’s always nice to have a blanket you can throw down on the ground for some pretty sitting/posed shots. It’s also much more comfortable sitting on a blanket than on the ground.
- Book your session for an hour before sunset.
- We want to avoid high sun and harsh light. Our session will be the prettiest in the evening hours. The light falls beautifully over the bluebonnets and on you and your family when the sun is setting.
I only book a few bluebonnet sessions during bluebonnet season. Spots are limited and go fast!

Hi! I came across your website and your work online today. I’m interested in booking a session for family portraits in the bluebonnets – we’ve not lived here very long, so we’re excited to take pictures that really represent part of Texas! Please contact me with more info at your convenience. Thanks!
